A Beautiful Night at the Theater

Yesterday we went up to my grandparents house, accompanied by Kara P. We spent most of the day watching TV and playing "Who wants to be a Millionaire" as it was raining and a little chilly.

Then that night Mom, Kara, Abby, Becca, and myself went up to Kansas City to Starlight Theater to see "The Music Man". It is a great musical, and it was well casted and performed. They had a little trouble with sound and hearing each other sometimes, but nothing too drastic.

Starlight is an outdoor theater and the weather was unbelievably beautiful! It was in the 70's with a gentle breeze...perfect. Much better that the night before, as they had to stop the production due to HEAVY rain. The show doesn't start until 8:30 p.m. and we didn't get back to Mimi and Papa's until after midnight. We were exhausted! Still am actually, but it was worth it!

Megan's New Blanket from Grandma

Last night Megan received her afghan from Grandma. It is kind of a tradition for my Grandma to make each of us a personalized afghan when we are in 2nd grade. So it is now Meg's turn! She requested a red blanket with Tinkerbell on it. She got it...:D Thanks Grandma!

Trip to Branson

Hey guys! We got back from our mini vacation last night. We went to Branson and stayed in the Long Creek condos. It was really nice, a 2-story, 3,000 sq. ft house. It had 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 8 TVs including a home theater. :D We went swimming and watched several movies. Thanks Mimi and Papa!

Vacation Bible School

Hey everyone! We had VBS last week and it was a blast! Our program was "Power Lab", so it was science themed. I was a crew leader(someone who guides a group of kids from place to place) and I had 5-6 kids ages 6-10. Here's a picture of my crew.
L-R: Levi, Myself, Tanner, Logan, Alex, Tara, and my assistant Stephen

Each day we started with worship and skits to introduce the Bible story then went on a rotation of Crafts, Games, Snack, Video/Experiments, and Drama. Our Bible stories included Jesus healing the 10 Leapers, Jesus healing the Blind Man, Peter walking on Water, Crucifixion/Resurrection, and the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. We learned much about God, His Power and His love.

Overall one of the things that stuck with me was that sharing the love of the Lord doesn't have to be some long-winded speech, a simple hug or "God loves you" can sometimes have more impact than a lecture. Also that lightening should be a reminder to share with others, because like lightening lights up the sky, we can light up the world.

We had 117 workers and an even 200 kids, pretty impressive! :D We are greatly blessed. Here are some more pictures. Enjoy!

This week we are going to Branson for a couple of days with Mimi and Papa. Should be lots of fun! TTYL!
